choosing that name for your substack was effective because it's what brought me here. we may likely never connect again (due to our different worlds and this massive platform) but i wanted you to know that yours is an excellent substack title--it resonates. i have often written that very phrase "writing my way back" while journaling during times when i felt disconnected from my writing self. congrats on your writerly self-awareness during early motherhood. i think it's awesome!

I am enjoying your reflective writing so much. It takes me back to my days of early mothering when I too stepped out of the life I had previously known. In my case, continuing in that life wasn’t going to be healthy. But I didn’t have a clue what was next. still, I felt very lonely in motherhood. I was very grateful when I met a handful of other women who were also at-home moms. Two of them, an artist/Mom, and a community organizer/Mom are still my best friends.
